In order to
improve the water quality of stormwater runoff before it is
discharged from development sites, it's essential to
properly plan for and incorporate Permanent Stormwater
Quality BMPs
(Best Management Practices) into the design of each site.
These BMPs should always be included in the early planning
stages of development. When choosing these BMPs, it is
important to consider which BMPs are most efficient and
appropriate for the site. Whenever possible, the
Permanent BMPs should be above ground systems, which are
generally less expensive to install and maintain. They
allow for infiltration of stormwater which filters out
contaminates in the stormwater runoff. Runoff from roof tops and paves surfaces
should be treated before it reaches the detention facility
or is discharged off-site. This page contains resource
links to implementing these Permanent Stormwater Quality BMPs. |

CDPHE Main Page |
The Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) requires
various forms/permits for Stormwater Quality
Management. These documents may be found on
their website; or you may use the links below.

These documents were created by and for the City of Loveland |
The City of Loveland Stormwater
Utility has prepared the following documents to assist
developers in the selection of both temporary
sediment/erosion control and permanent stormwater quality BMPs for development sites, encourage developers to
incorporate BMPs and also to reduce delays and expedite
approval of development submittals to the City of Loveland.

Necessary On-Site Documents for
Developments: |
- Make sure to have the
Notice of Intent (NOI) or CDPS Stormwater Construction
Permit on site.
- Keep an updated
Stormwater Management Plan (SWMP) on
site.
- Keep a BMP Maintenance
Folder on site. To assist in performing this task,
the City of Loveland has prepared an Erosion and
Sediment Control Inspection List (ESCIL) for you
to use.
- Complete the
Construction Inactivation, Transfer or Reassignment Form
when it is appropriate to do so.

The EPA (Environmental
Protection Agency)
The EPA is promoting Green
Infrastructure, which is a cost-effective, sustainable and
environmentally friendly approach to wet weather management.
For more information visit the EPA website. The EPA
has also an Electronic Notice of Intent system which
makes it easier, faster and much more accurate for
construction sites.
