Biography
Hugh McKean was born in Bucks County,
Pennsylvania before moving to Missouri where he grew up on a small family
farm. He attended New Mexico State University where he met and married
Kristin, his wife of 19 years. Hugh graduated from Colorado State
University in 1996 with a BA and moved to Loveland in 1997. He is a member
of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary with whom he is a Boat Crew
Coxswain, and Instructor.
Currently Hugh
owns a small home repair contracting business as well as a firm conducting
background investigations and employment eligibility verification for
employers. He is also a NRA pistol and firearms safety instructor. Much of
his professional life has been as a contractor to the federal government,
notably as an aviation fuel supplier to the Department of Defense and
working on economic impact studies for the Army Corps of Engineers.
Involved in
the community for years, Hugh has served as vice-president of the New Vision
Charter School Board and on the Master Planning Committee for Thompson
School District.
In addition to traveling as a family with his wife and
children, Hanna and Aiden, Hugh enjoys hiking and hunting, shooting and
stargazing. |
