The mission of the City of Loveland Parks & Recreation Department is to provide effective, efficient and high-quality leisure facilities, sites, services and programs for citizens of and visitors to the community.

We embrace this mission through the three pillars of parks and recreation to make a positive impact on the quality of life: conservationhealth & wellness and social equity.

Leisure TimesLeisure Times Activity Guide

The Leisure Times Activity Guide is a complete listing of the activities and programs offered through the Parks & Recreation Department in print, and online.  It is printed quarterly and distributed by direct mail to households within the region that have participated in an activity in the past year, or have requested to be added to the mailing list.

Rules & Regulations

City Code Chapter 12.40, Section 12.40.010: "Rules & Regulations. The parks and recreation department shall have the authority to establish and enforce such rules and regulations as it deems necessary pertaining to the operation of all parks and recreational facilities owned or operated by the city." (Ord. 3572 ~ 1, 1989)


Parks & Rec Foundation LogoThe Foundation serves the community through management of the following areas through the Parks & Recreation Department:  Youth & Family Scholarship Program, Park Tree & Bench Donation Program and Cemetery Donation Program.  Supporters of the Loveland Parks and Recreation Foundation can take pride in their contribution to the quality of life in Loveland.


On January 24th, 2018 the Colorado Lottery will celebrate 35 years of working with many Parks & Recreation Departments. Your lottery dollars are at work locally for trails, the Chilson Recreation Center, and other Loveland parks projects!

Boards & Commissions Openings

Citizens are invited to serve as official advisors to Loveland City Council on City Boards and Commissions. The committees serve as advisory groups helping councilors learn about and make decisions on a variety of issues that affect Loveland’s citizens and businesses.
