Arts & Crafts
The City of Loveland Parks and Recreation Department offers several Arts & Crafts classes ranging from general crafts classes in Clay & Pottery, Drawing, Stained Glass, to painting with Watercolor, or Acrylic & Oil Based Painting classes. Arts & Crafts classes are offered for all ages.
Pottery Studio

- Parent/Child classes: 3-5 years old
- Holiday Clay for Youth: Grades 1-6
- Youth Handbuilding: 7-16 year olds
- Teen and Adult Classes for Handbuilding & Wheel Throwing
- Holiday Paint & Fire Classes: All ages
Our programs are taught by highly qualified instructors who will guide you through the clay building process. Clay, glazing, firing, and instruction is all included in our classes. Learn a new hobby that will last a life-time!
Music, Dance, Theater
The department provides several music classes from Rhythm & Rhyme Tyme for the pre-schooler, to guitar lessons for older youth and adults. Dance classes are offered at every level, and style of dance. You can learn to Tap dance with your tot, or you can watch while you child learns Ballet, not to mention the Hip Hop styles that your teenager will love to learn. Theater & Drama classes are offered in the fall of each year, and are based on space availability for the rest of the year. Details in the Leisure Times Activity Guide.
Tots & Preschool
Parks & Recreation offers classes for your tots beginning at age 1 1/2 years through age 6, in the areas of tumbling, music, dance, arts & crafts, cooking, and general interest classes.
A "Small Fries" preschool program is also available. The program focuses on cognitive, language, physical, and social/emotional development. Each child is encouraged to be an active participant by learning about his/her world through a variety of hands-on experiences with his/her peers. Outdoor Recreation
For outdoor enthusiasts the Loveland Parks & Recreation Department offers a variety of outdoor classes for young and old including: Hunter's Education Certification, Horse Riding, Survival Plants, Stand Up Paddle Boarding, Skateboarding, Scuba Diving and more. General & Special Interest
The Chilson Recreation Center offers many General & Special Interest Classes for all age groups that cover many varied areas. These classes will inspire you to pick up an old hobby or to start a new one!
Enjoy learning new cooking recipes from around the world, languages, painting, drawing, photography, knitting, wreath making, and many others which would be listed in each brochure. These classes will bring you great enjoyment, while learning something new, and a chance to share with others for years to come. Put a smile on your face and a skip to your walk by developing a new interest while attending a class.
