Mission Statement:
“Committing Knowledge and Resources to the
Improvement of Safety for our
Community and its People”

A Message from Division Chief Merlin Green...

Welcome to the Loveland Fire Prevention web site! I hope this helps you find the information that you need. I also hope this site can give you an idea about how we go about meeting our mission statement.

When we created this mission statement, we didn’t want just another feel good statement. We wanted something that our group could understand, “buy into”, and really tell what we want to accomplish in our division. This means we have made a commitment to continually train and look for new methods to perform our jobs to the best of our ability, and to always explore new technology and tools in order to help teach our children and community about how to be a fire safe community.  Our goal and our commitment to you, our citizens, is to provide a safe place to live, visit, work and play in the City of Loveland.

To meet these goals, the Fire Prevention Bureau works with developers and contractors to assure that new developments have adequate streets and water supplies in the event of a fire. We make sure new buildings are built in a safe manner that meets all applicable fire codes. We also take our message to the community to promote residential and commercial fire safety, as well as fire and life safety education. Our education programs are designed for all ages form pre-school to seniors.

The Bureau investigates all fires occurring in the community in order to determine how and where the fire started. We then use this information to further educate the community. In addition to these responsibilities, the Bureau is also tasked with maintaining the Department’s records management systems, responding to complaints and service calls, and issuing special permits.

I hope you find our site to be helpful. We are changing the site on a regular basis, so come back often.

Please contact my self or any of my staff for more information. We would love to hear from you.
