Q. What course is the best
course for me to play while I’m learning?
A. The
Cattail Creek
golf course is a 9-hole par 3 golf course. While not easy, the course has
shorter-length holes that can be friendlier to a beginner. Also, the course
can be walked without too much effort. The best place to practice your
skills, however, is on the driving ranges, putting greens and other practice
areas.
You can also play the 18-hole courses during times that
are not as characteristically busy such as a Sunday afternoon or during
twilight after 3:30. Also, The Olde Course at Loveland offers a
mini-round during the summer that begins at 7:00 p.m. This time is
especially designed for those new to the game, those players golfing as a
family, or those who just want a quick, short round. Only 3 - 5 holes are
played during the mini-round.
Q. How do I make a tee time at
a Loveland golf course?
A. There are three easy methods to make a tee time
for any of the three Loveland courses:
1) Log on to
www.golfloveland.com –
and look for online tee times
2) Call the automated tee time registration system
at (970) 669-5800.
3) Call or visit the pro shops directly:
Mariana Butte (970) 667-8308
Cattail Creek (970) 663-5310
The Olde Course at Loveland
(970) 667-5256
We do have an instructional brochure and registration
form for the automated
phone system that you can download here:
"Tee Time How-to".
Q. When can I make a tee time?
A. This answer has 3 parts:
1. Normal Tee Times: Golfers are able to make a
tee time 8 days in advance starting at 7:00 p.m. online or through the
automated phone system; in addition, the pro shops will be happy to assist
you with your tee time reservation within 7 days.
2. Same Day Tee Times: If you want to play the
same day you are calling for a tee time, you must contact the course pro
shop directly:
Mariana Butte (970) 667-8308
Cattail Creek (970) 663-5310
The Olde Course at Loveland
(970) 667-5256
3. Pre-Reserved Tee Times: You can also
pre-reserve tee times 21 days in advance by paying an additional nominal fee
per player. This service is perfect when you want to arrange a guaranteed
tee time for those out of town guests, bachelor round, or work-holiday.
Cancelling/Modifying your tee time: If you need
to cancel your tee time or change the number of players, date or time please
do so as far in advance as possible by calling the pro shops. By canceling
or modifying your time, you show respect to the golf course staff and your
fellow golfers and help to keep golf fees down.
Q. Do I have to register to
use the tee time systems?
A. No, not necessarily.
You will be required to use a credit card number to confirm your times if
you are not registered. If you do register you receive a pin number to use
with both the telephone system and the online tee times.
Q. How can I register?
A. You can register for the tee time systems by
completing the Tee
Time ID Form online, by visiting the courses and completing a
registration form, or by downloading the brochure and mail-in registration form here:
Registration Form.
In order to book your times online, you need to go through a simple “First
Time Web Users” registration to validate your number for the on line tee
time system.

Q. How soon should I show up at
the golf course before my scheduled tee time?
A. We ask that all golfers report to the pro shop at
least 30 minutes prior to their scheduled time. This allows plenty of
time for check-in, perhaps a little warm up on the range, and then arrival
at the 1st tee.
Q. What tee should I play
from?
A. All of the courses are set up with multiple
colored courses or “teeing” areas. As a beginner do not be afraid to
play from the forward tees – usually colored yellow and red. Golf is way
more enjoyable when you play from the tees that fit your current abilities
instead of struggling through playing from the extended yardage tees.
Q. Do I have to golf my round in
a certain time?
A. All three courses have expected pace of play
times. Check the course you’ll be playing to see its specific time. By
playing within that perimeter you not only have an enjoyable round, but
ensure the enjoyment of those on the course with you.
For more suggestions on how to play within the pace of play, download the
following brochure:
"Pace of Play".
