What
is CDBG?

Community Development Block Grant funds are provided
to the City through the U.S. Department of Housing and
Urban Development (HUD). Funds are granted to non-profit agencies
that provide housing and supportive services to
families with low to moderate incomes.
The Human Services Office works with the Human
Services Commission to allocate funds and with HUD to
assure that all CDBG-funded activities are in
compliance with federal regulations.
A
minimum of 65% of CDBG funds are granted to agencies
providing bricks and mortar projects; a maximum of 15%
of funds are granted for public service projects; and
a maximum of 20% of the funds are set aside for
program administration.
2005 - 2010
Loveland Goals for CDBG
1.
Provide
services to homeless persons in Loveland through shelter, case management,
transitional and permanent housing.
2.
Create new housing and
maintain existing housing opportunities for households with low income.
Give funding priority to projects and activities that serve households
earning 50% or less of the area median income.
3. Implement and
support the anti-poverty strategy by supporting agencies and services that
meet basic needs and provide tools for self-sufficiency to households with
low income.
