The July 4th Celebration will be held at North Lake Park -
29th Street & Taft Avenue

Please Note: Private sales of Food, Beverages, Toys, or other products on City Property is not allowed without pre-approval.

The July 4th Festival is held annually at North Lake Park in Loveland.  The park is approximately 50 acres in size, and offers a wide variety of amenities including picnic areas, a miniature train, athletic fields, outdoor basketball courts, playgrounds, a swimming beach, and plenty of grassy open space.
North Lake Park is open to the public from 6:30am to 10:30pm daily.
No after hours camping will be allowed.

No personal fireworks or alcoholic beverages will be allowed in the park.

Located at the corner of Taft Avenue & 29th Street in NW Loveland, North Lake Park also offers one the area’s finest outdoor entertainment venues at the Norma & Lynn Hammond Amphitheater.  Constructed and dedicated in
1996 by the Loveland Rotary Club, the City of Loveland, and many local philanthropists, this “state of the art” facility offers exceptional acoustics surrounded by grassed seating for close to 1,000 spectators.

DIRECTIONS TO THE PARK:

Visitors accessing from I-25 should take the Highway 34 exit, travel west on Hwy. 34 into Loveland, go past Lake Loveland (on your right). Turn right onto Taft Avenue, and take Taft north to 29th Street. Turn right on 29th Street, and you may park in the lots at Loveland High School or along 29th Street (for handicapped spaces).
There will be a fee for parking in Loveland High School lots.

July 4th FACTS, SCHEDULE, & PARKING:

Organized in the late 1970's by local community groups,
the July 4th Festival in North Lake Park serves as the
central site for celebrating Independence Day in Loveland.  Festivities include food and game booths sponsored by nonprofit community organizations, entertainment
sponsored by the City of Loveland, and the area’s largest
and longest fireworks show sponsored by Loveland Fire & Rescue and the City of Loveland. This annual celebration attracts steady crowds during the day culminating with
well over 20,000 people in the North Lake Park area when
the fireworks demonstration begins.

SCHEDULE:

The flag raising ceremony will take place at 10:00am by
the Lone Tree School House. The Fife & Drum Corps along with assistance from Boy Scout Troop #185 will have the honors of raising the American Flag for this July 4th Celebration.

A full slate of entertainment is planned beginning around 11:00am and ending with the largest Fireworks show in Northern Colorado, at just after 9:15pm. This year’s
fireworks will be approximately 30 minutes in length, and culminate with a finale of close to 500 shots.

Entertainment is offered at the Norma & Lynn Hammond Amphitheater stage area starting at around 5:00pm:
The Folk Collection
– Traditional Folk Music
Peter Davison
– Children's Performer

At 8:00pm, will be a July 4th Festival concert presented by the Loveland Concert Band with a “Star Spangled Spectacular” at 8:00pm. This 80+ member band will play many of Loveland's patriotic favorites culminating at the beginning of the fireworks show; set for 9:17pm.

PARKING:

Visitors are urged to bicycle or walk to the park. Parking
will be limited to paid parking for cars in the lots at the Loveland High School, 920 W. 29th Street, as a fundraiser
for school activities.

You may also park "on-street" in surrounding neighborhoods. This option is FREE, but may require walking to the park.

The Loveland Police Department has announced that 29th Street from Custer Drive to Taft Avenue will be CLOSED to through traffic on July 4th, with designated handicapped parking available from Aspen Drive to Taft Avenue along
29th Street.  Limited diagonal parking will be available along 29th Street from Taft Avenue west to Empire Avenue and from Aspen Drive east to Custer Avenue. (please see the map at the bottom of this page for details).

RV parking will NOT be allowed this year at the
Loveland High School parking lot.

Traffic inside the park will be limited to event
participants and staff only (pass required).

The Loveland Police Department has also asked that any
July 4th visitors leave all pets, fireworks, and alcoholic beverages at home.

The fireworks launch location will once again impact areas
of the park this year with the beach parking lot and
fireworks areas CLOSED all day.

The Basketball courts and playground on the south side of the park will NOT be open on July 3rd or July 4th!
This is to allow for set-up/safety zone of the fireworks
launch site.  The swim beach/parking areas will also be CLOSED on July 3rd & 4th.
Areas off-limits to spectators will be fenced and posted,
and security personnel will patrol the cleared areas.

Parking For Visitors with Special Needs:

Vehicles with valid Handicapped Parking passes will be allowed to park in the west parking lot at Loveland High School, or along 29th Street from Aspen Drive to Taft Avenue along 29th Street FREE Handicap Parking in Designated Areas ONLY.
Due to the launch area for the fireworks show, the main
road into the park will be used by event staff and emergency vehicles only. No other vehicle traffic will be allowed in the park on July 4th.  All vehicles including those with valid handicapped stickers or plates are urged to use the west Loveland High School parking lot.

Overnight Camping in North Lake Park:

Overnight camping is not allowed in any City of Loveland Parks or Open Spaces.
On Thursday night, and Friday morning Police will periodically patrol the park and clear out any illegal
campers or partiers.  Violators will risk receipt of a summons for violating City ordinances against such activities as illegal camping and/or consuming alcoholic beverages in a public park area.
The park will open at 6:30am on July 4th, for those early arrivals staking out a spot for the day’s events.
The swim beach area, basketball courts and playground
(on the south side of the park), and the adjacent parking lots will be closed all day on July 3rd and July 4th.

Pets, Alcoholic Beverages, and Personal Fireworks:

The Loveland Police and Fire Departments have requested that all visitors to the North Lake Park area leave their pets, alcoholic beverages, and personal fireworks at home as the risk for injury is quite high with the large crowds expected.  Violators will risk receipt of a summons for violating the City ordinance against consuming alcoholic beverages and/or shooting fireworks in a public place.
