The July 4th
Celebration will be held
at
North
Lake Park -
29th Street & Taft Avenue
Please Note: Private sales of Food, Beverages,
Toys, or other products on City Property is not allowed without
pre-approval.
The July 4th
Festival is held annually at North Lake Park in Loveland.
The park is approximately 50 acres in size, and offers a wide
variety of amenities including picnic areas, a miniature train,
athletic fields, outdoor basketball courts,
playgrounds, a swimming beach, and plenty of grassy open space.
North Lake Park is
open to the public from 6:30am to 10:30pm daily.
No after hours camping will be allowed.
No personal fireworks or alcoholic beverages will be allowed in
the park.
Located at the corner of Taft Avenue & 29th Street in NW
Loveland, North Lake Park also offers one the area’s finest
outdoor entertainment venues at the Norma & Lynn Hammond
Amphitheater. Constructed and dedicated in
1996 by the
Loveland Rotary Club, the City of Loveland, and many local
philanthropists, this “state of the art” facility offers
exceptional acoustics surrounded by grassed seating for close to
1,000 spectators.
DIRECTIONS
TO THE PARK:
Visitors accessing from I-25 should take the Highway 34 exit,
travel west on Hwy. 34 into Loveland, go past Lake Loveland (on
your right). Turn right onto Taft Avenue, and take Taft north to
29th Street. Turn right on 29th Street, and you may park in the
lots at Loveland High School or along 29th Street
(for handicapped spaces).
There will be a fee for parking in
Loveland High School lots.
July 4th
FACTS, SCHEDULE, & PARKING:
Organized in the late 1970's by
local community groups,
the July 4th Festival in North Lake Park
serves as the
central site for celebrating Independence Day in
Loveland. Festivities include food and game booths sponsored by
nonprofit community organizations, entertainment
sponsored by
the City of Loveland, and the area’s largest
and longest
fireworks show sponsored by Loveland Fire & Rescue and the
City of Loveland. This annual celebration attracts steady crowds
during the day culminating with
well over 20,000 people in the
North Lake Park area when
the fireworks demonstration
begins.
SCHEDULE:
The flag raising ceremony
will take place at 10:00am by
the Lone Tree School House.
The Fife & Drum Corps along with assistance from Boy Scout Troop
#185 will
have the honors of raising the
American Flag for this
July 4th Celebration.
A full slate of entertainment is
planned beginning around 11:00am and ending with the largest
Fireworks show in Northern Colorado, at just after 9:15pm. This
year’s
fireworks will be approximately 30 minutes in length, and
culminate with a finale of close to 500 shots.
Entertainment is offered at the
Norma & Lynn Hammond Amphitheater stage area starting at around 5:00pm:

Peter Davison – Children's Performer
At 8:00pm, will be a
July 4th Festival concert presented by the Loveland Concert
Band with a “Star Spangled Spectacular” at 8:00pm. This 80+
member band will play many of Loveland's patriotic favorites
culminating at the
beginning of the
fireworks show; set for 9:17pm.

PARKING:
Visitors are urged to bicycle or
walk to the park. Parking
will
be limited to paid parking for cars in the lots at the Loveland
High School, 920 W. 29th Street, as a fundraiser
for school
activities.
You may also park "on-street" in surrounding
neighborhoods. This option is FREE, but may require
walking
to the park.
The Loveland Police Department has announced that 29th
Street from Custer Drive to Taft Avenue will be CLOSED to
through traffic on July 4th, with designated handicapped parking
available from Aspen Drive to Taft Avenue along
29th
Street. Limited diagonal parking will be available along 29th
Street from Taft Avenue west to Empire Avenue and from Aspen
Drive east to Custer Avenue. (please see the map at the
bottom of this page for details).
RV parking will NOT be allowed this year at the
Loveland High
School parking lot.
Traffic inside the park will be limited to event
participants and staff only (pass required).
The Loveland Police Department has also asked that any
July 4th
visitors leave all pets, fireworks, and alcoholic beverages
at home.
The fireworks launch location will once again impact areas
of
the park this year with the beach parking lot and
fireworks
areas CLOSED all day.
The Basketball courts and playground on the south side of
the park will NOT be open on July 3rd or July 4th!
This is to allow
for set-up/safety zone of the fireworks
launch site. The swim beach/parking areas will
also be CLOSED
on July 3rd & 4th.
Areas off-limits to spectators will be fenced and posted,
and security personnel will patrol the cleared areas.
Parking
For Visitors with Special Needs:
Vehicles with
valid Handicapped Parking passes will be allowed to park in the
west parking lot at Loveland High School, or along 29th Street
from Aspen Drive to Taft Avenue along 29th Street
FREE Handicap Parking in Designated Areas ONLY.
Due to the launch area for the fireworks show, the main
road
into the park will be used by event staff and emergency vehicles
only. No other vehicle traffic will be allowed in the park on
July 4th.
All vehicles including those with valid handicapped stickers or
plates are urged to use the west Loveland High School parking
lot.
Overnight Camping in North Lake
Park:
Overnight
camping is not allowed in any City of Loveland Parks or Open
Spaces.
On Thursday night, and Friday morning Police will
periodically patrol the park and clear out any illegal
campers
or partiers. Violators will risk receipt of
a summons for
violating City ordinances against such activities as illegal camping and/or
consuming alcoholic beverages in a public park area.
The park will open at 6:30am on July 4th, for those early arrivals staking
out a spot for the day’s events.
The swim beach area, basketball courts and playground
(on the south side of the park), and the adjacent parking lots will be closed all day on July 3rd
and July 4th.
Pets, Alcoholic Beverages, and
Personal Fireworks:
The Loveland
Police and Fire Departments have requested that all visitors to
the North Lake Park area leave their pets, alcoholic beverages,
and personal fireworks at home as the risk for injury is quite
high with the large crowds expected. Violators will risk
receipt of a summons for violating the City ordinance against
consuming alcoholic beverages and/or shooting fireworks in a
public place.
