Police Explorer Program

The explorer post is a law enforcement career orientation program co-sponsored by the Loveland Police Department, Boy Scouts of America and LEEPAAC. It is a program whereby young adults are allowed to become familiar and participate in law enforcement activities in a non-hazardous capacity. Explorer Cadets are acquainted with the ideals, knowledge and philosophies of law enforcement. The program provides the cadet the opportunity to participate in community service programs while considering a prospective career in law enforcement. Explorer Cadets compete in national competitions across the country testing their acquired law enforcement skills. Explorers assist in directing traffic, gate security, parking, and other various tasks at special events. Cadets also ride along with certified police officers in an observation role to further their knowledge and receive training first hand.
