Bailiff Volunteer-This traditional volunteer opportunity is fascinating and requires dedication and a professional demeanor.  Bailiffs are responsible for checking in defendants for court, confirming their address, and handing them a right advisement.  Before the Judge starts court, the bailiff will address the defendants and advise them of basic procedures of the court. Once court is in session, the bailiff assists with paperwork exchanged between the court , assistant city attorney, judge, and the defendant . Training is provided and this position requires a criminal background check.

Bailiffs must be reliable and professionally attired. Scheduling is done one month prior and rotates with four other volunteer bailiffs on the following day/times:

Mondays
8:00am - 12:00noon*
Wednesdays
8:00am - 12:00noon*
2:00pm - 5:00pm*
*The length of time varies according to the docket.
