Renewable Energy Program Prices, Terms and Conditions

GreenSwitch energy is sold in blocks. One block is equal to 100 kilowatt-hours (kWh) and each block costs $2.20. Customers must purchase a minimum of one block (equals 100 kWh) to participate in the GreenSwitch program.

 

Additional GreenSwitch Information

How will I be billed? GreenSwitch will be listed on your City of Loveland utility bill as an additional line item.
How will my electricity be calculated? You will be charged the standard residential rate ($5.24 base charge + $0.06314/kWh) plus $2.20 for every 100 kWh GreenSwitch block you purchase. A $0.00424/kWh payment-in-lieu-of-taxes charge will be added to your monthly bill.*
How much will my total electricity service cost, including utility charges?

Your bill will vary based on your use of electricity and the number of GreenSwitch blocks you purchase. For example, if you use a monthly average of 700 kWh, plus one block of GreenSwitch energy, you will be charged as follows:

Will my electric rates change over time? Any changes in GreenSwitch pricing will be listed on the GreenSwitch website pages. General electric rate changes must go before Loveland City Council for two readings.**
What fuel sources will be used to generate my power? Please see the GreenSwitch Product Content Label
If I want to terminate this agreement/ contract, will I have to pay a penalty? There is no penalty for early termination.
What length of agreement/ contract is required? 1 year
What other fees might I be charged? If your utility bill goes unpaid for more than 35 days, a late charge of $12 will be added.***

This program is subject to the availability of renewable energy from Platte River Power Authority. The supply may be limited. GreenSwitch is also subject to the terms and conditions listed in the Renewable Energy Premium Schedule of Rates, Charges and Fees (see page 13). 

 

Rate changes will be listed on the GreenSwitch web pages and in Loveland Water and Power's Renewable Energy Premium Schedule of Rates, Charges and Fees (see page 13).

 

GreenSwitch is accredited by the Green-e Energy Program, which requires companies offering Green-e Energy certified products to provide their customers with prices, terms and conditions of service. Answer: 700 kWh per month

An average Northern Colorado home using 700 kilowatt-hours of electricity per month would spend an additional $15.40 per month for seven blocks of GreenSwitch renewable energy.
